Interview with the Devil

— You speak of Witches?

— Yes, of Witches and Warlocks.

— Is it true that to become a Witch or Warlock, one must be born as one? That it’s impossible if you previously followed another faith?

— No, that’s not true! The word “Witch” or “Warlock” comes from “to know” — to possess certain knowledge. Remember, I am Knowledge. If a person is worthy, these kinds of knowledge are revealed to them.

— So any person can come and receive this knowledge?

— Anyone can come, but it will not be revealed to everyone.

— What does it depend on?

— On you yourselves. Many step onto this Path. Most of them later turn away from it. And it begins to seem difficult. Some start to imagine themselves as “all-powerful” and capable of controlling the fates of others. They become arrogant as soon as a small portion of magic (knowledge) is revealed to them. I have witnessed many rises and just as many falls. Almost all of them forget the oath they gave on the day they came to Me. They close this “door” in front of themselves. I do not hold them back. They betray Me. After that, they stop being able to “cast spells,” they begin to feel disappointed and run to the church for protection, promising to give up all the “names and addresses.” Throughout the entire history of the Inquisition, not a single Witch was ever “burned.” Now there are only a handful of them left.

— A handful?

— Yes, that’s correct. There are thousands who call Me their Father. And only a handful whom I call My Children! With My Children, I always communicate — and not just as a voice in the head. We walk together, in the park for example. I speak with My Children!

— So it turns out that many of those who call themselves magicians and witches “of the seventh generation” have no connection to You at all?

— Of course they have some connection, but they greatly exaggerate it. Learning a few card spreads, covering themselves in tattoos and metal jewelry — they think that by doing this they become closer to Me. That’s not how it works. Unity with Me is not in jewelry and tattoos, but in the Strength of spirit. Not to mention the obvious charlatans, of which there are also many. Many stop on the Path after taking just a few steps forward. No, they don’t turn away, they don’t betray — but they also don’t move forward. After stepping onto the Path and giving Me an oath of loyalty, many become afraid or simply uncomfortable. So they either leave or stop — standing quietly “in a corner of the Darkness,” as if they haven’t betrayed the oath, but having no desire to move forward either. And sometimes there are bad teachers.

— Teachers?

— Yes. It happens that a person decides to come to Me. They start looking for information. Of course, they will find it — because I am already with them, they just don’t know it yet, and I help them come across someone knowledgeable. They find themselves a teacher who will teach them the basics and give them books. But many teachers, after this, begin to see themselves as superior and all-knowing. If only they could hear Me. They would hear My anger. Teachers — this is more like a specific caste of high-level charlatans. They look for students. For money, they start teaching everything, often things they themselves don’t fully know. After such teachers, good, strong people leave Me. They become disappointed in the Darkness, seeing it all as disgusting and unpleasant. And I don’t blame them for it — it is entirely the teacher’s fault.

Know this: I have no teachers who are perverted and want to conduct “training” through the bed. Or who fight with those who “have no money” over things they themselves never paid for. When a person has consciously known and thought about Me their whole life, and after many years finally comes to Me and meets such a charlatan teacher and then turns away — that is a costly loss for Me.

— So you have almost no teachers who could properly teach and guide someone at the very beginning of their Path?

— Teaching and explaining at the very beginning of the Path is not difficult. And there are enough people willing to do it that it’s easy to get confused when choosing a teacher. But almost all of them — the teachers — forget when they need to stop. They start seeing you as their source of income. Greed takes over them, and then it takes over your education. At this stage, teaching turns into business. It’s sad. I gave them knowledge for a different purpose. There is also a special caste of so-called “teachers” who have no connection to Me at all. Yes, in the past they were part of the Darkness — until they betrayed Me. They believe that because they teach, they have the right to interfere in the fates of their students and go against My prohibitions. There is no place for them near Me.

— How many “lessons” should a teacher give to someone who has just stepped onto the Path, so that they can continue on their own afterward?

— Three. Only three lessons.

First: Dispel the myth about Hell that has settled in the mind of the newcomer. In the age of information, it is difficult to “separate the wheat from the chaff,” and a person’s head can contain anything except the truth.

Second: Tell them about the oath — its meaning and significance. Explain how to take it and clarify everything regarding their first ritual.

Third: Teach them how to be a part of the Darkness. What rituals are and what they are needed for. Give them the key to all rituals, and most importantly — teach them how to continue learning on their own.

— So it’s that easy to come to You?

(Smile) Alas, no. It is more difficult than it looks on paper. Sometimes I spend decades to bring a strong person to Myself.

— Is it difficult to find a real teacher instead of a charlatan? Are there many of them?

— If we’re talking about Slavs, there are only six Clans that can truly teach. For everyone else, it’s difficult with teachers. To my regret, they are often not capable of teaching everything, and sometimes, in order not to look ignorant in the student’s eyes, they start inventing additional initiation rituals and making up traditions. All of this is unnecessary. Every person who comes to Me has their own Path, and this Path is different for everyone. Some choose sorcery to help other people, some are good at fortune-telling, some teach others, and some simply carry the word about Me — for example, by taking an interview from Me (smile).

Although each of them can easily do all these things, they simply prefer to do what they like most, what resonates with their soul.

— So it turns out that anyone walking the Path, regardless of what they do (fortune-telling, sorcery, or teaching newcomers, etc.), can easily “master” another “specialty”? For example, someone who tells fortunes can start teaching, and vice versa?

— Of course. They all possess the necessary knowledge or know how to obtain it. If they wish, they can easily, as you said, “master a specialty” — they only need to want it. I will help each of them with that.

— Since we’ve moved on to sorcery, tell me — is sorcery a sin?

— It depends on how you look at it. I see only knowledge in it — special knowledge. What do you think: does sorcery exist in Orthodoxy? Does everyone who goes to church or prays to God at home and lights candles for Him practice sorcery?
